Toxic Masculinity

A program proposal on
fighting off Toxic Masculinity in men.

What is Toxic Masculinity?

Toxic masculinity refers to such societal norms that dictate what a man “should be like.”These ideals include: stoicism, aggression, violence, dominance, hyper-independence and self-reliance, need for emotional control, power over women, or and pursuit of status.Toxic masculinity is often seen promoted and celebrated in popular media.

Moreover, toxic masculinity can play a role in men’s mental health as they are taught to suppress one's own feelings for showing vulnerability can make it seem like they are weak and not "strong". But this is all wrong.

And so how can we combat toxic masculinity?

We can do this by embracing vulnerability and encouraging emotional expression.

By normalizing conversations on topics like how traditional masculine norms can be harmful is one
way to overcome toxic masculinity and enhance
men's mental wellness.

With the matter at hand, we realize how important it is to take a step and start a change for this instance to not prolong and conquer.
And so we present to you,
